IDEAS ARE
BECOMING ASSETS.

Patent activity is not a complete measure of innovation. It is, however, an unusually useful lens on where companies are putting legal, technical and commercial attention.

The AI patent race is shifting from foundational models toward practical systems: healthcare, transport, devices, chips and the workflows that make models useful.

Read beyond the headline

A PATENT IS A CLUE, NOT A VERDICT.

A published application may never become an enforceable patent. The most useful analysis separates a technical claim, a commercial direction and a real competitive advantage.

01
Check the status.

Is it an application, a granted patent, expired, abandoned, or part of a continuing family?

02
Read the claims—not only the abstract.

Claims define the legal boundary. The abstract is often a helpful but incomplete technical summary.

03
Map the family and geography.

Continuation filings and international counterparts reveal where an idea is being defended and developed.

04
Connect it to products.

Compare filing patterns with hiring, research papers, partnerships and product launches before drawing conclusions.
